Отворени семинар - разумијевање глобализације
VASSILIS K. FOUSKAS (the University of East London)
Faculty of Economics (IV flor), 18. April. 2019. 15:30
These are some of the questions to be addressed:
When did globalisation start historically and how did it impact on the nation-state? What is the relationship between globalisation and European integration and how does core and periphery of the global capitalist system inculcate globalisation? Is there only one globalisation or many, and what is the role of emerging markets, such as China, in globalisation? Does globalisation bear any resemblance to neo-liberalism? Last but not least, is globalisation a form of imperialism, i.e. a project for world domination reproducing global inequality?
Vassilis k. Fouskas a Professor of international relations at the University of East London, is the founding editor of the Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies (Routledge, 6 issues a year since 1998). His work has been translated into more than 10 languages and his most recent co-authored book, The Disintegration of Euro-Atlanticism and New Authoritarianism is available by Palgrave-Macmillan.

Lanaco: Workshop on digital transformation at the Faculty of Economics
The greatest hope of every country lies in appropriate education of young people. We live in the time of the fourth industrial revolution and we all know that learning in a school desk is not enough, but people should educate and improve themselves their entire life. The Faculty of Economics, as well as the real sector and the company Lanaco are more than aware of this. The workshop and lecture on digital transformation and benefits that modern business solutions of ERP class bring were held at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka on 19 March 2019 at 4.30 pm. The lecture and workshop were held by Saša Ristić, Associate for Business Development in the company Lanaco.
"Digital transformation itself is very important and affects all of us, and what is especially important to us is to show to students in what way this digital transformation will affect us in the future and what they will specifically do. As soon as students they come across certain software solutions that are the result of the digital transformation. In the second part of the presentation, we aim to show them a specific software solution that was designed as a result of, globally speaking, all these modern technologies. Here we want to introduce them with specific business solutions and help them to gain some practical skills that they will need in the future when they start working", said Saša Ristić.
The emphasis of the workshop was on the business-software solution – EcoOne, which is a kind of systematization of knowledge and experience that the company Lanaco has in the segment of business software. Also, the students themselves were delighted with this workshop.
"The lecture was very interesting. We learned about a new way of storing data via the cloud. Storing data in this way saves physical space and, at the same time it secures data and creates an archive. We also learned about Lanaco's platform for accounting, which considerably facilitates the conducting of bookkeeping and accounting activities, such as making entries of business changes, display of balance sheets, and the like." said student of economics Stefan Z.
The aforementioned activities are part of the E-lab talks series of events organized by the Laboratory for e-business of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka. This was an opportunity for the students, among other things, to learn how it is possible to automate accounting and business processes, and which practical skills they will need in the future.
