University of Banja Luka Representatives Participated in the TBEAI Study Visit to the University of Ljubljana
Professor Mirjana Milijević from the Faculty of Economics and Professor Tamara Pribišev Beleslin from the Faculty of Philosophy represented the University of Banja Luka during the second EU study visit organised within the Erasmus+ project Transforming Business Education with AI in Western Balkans: Innovating Education for the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs – TBEAI.
The study visit was held from 9 to 11 June 2026 at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, bringing together representatives of partner higher education institutions from the European Union and the Western Balkans.
The first working day focused on Work Package 2 and the finalisation of the proposed master’s curriculum. Through joint workshops, the partners discussed the curriculum structure, the content of future courses, and approaches to integrating artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship into contemporary business education.
The programme also presented current research projects implemented at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science. Participants visited the FRIDA high-performance computing cluster and learned about the work of the Slovenian Artificial Intelligence Competence Centre, including examples of AI applications in research, education, and industry.
The visit also included the launch of Work Package 3, a meeting of the project Steering Committee, and discussions on the next steps in curriculum development, institutional capacity building, and the transfer of European experience and good practices to Western Balkan universities.
TBEAI is funded under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education – Strand 2 programme. It aims to modernise business education by integrating artificial intelligence into curricula, developing the competencies of academic staff and students, establishing AI hubs, and strengthening cooperation between higher education institutions and the business sector.
The participation of the University of Banja Luka contributes to the development of its teaching and research capacities, interdisciplinary cooperation, and the application of contemporary AI solutions in education. For the Faculty of Economics, the outcomes are particularly relevant to the modernisation of business education, the further development of the Business Informatics study programme, and future activities of the Laboratory for Electronic Business.

Assistant prof. Mićić Participated in the Kick-off Meeting of the Erasmus+ TBEAI Project
A representative of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka (EFBL UNIBL), Assoc. Prof. Ljubiša Mićić, participated in the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project Transforming Business Education with AI in Western Balkans (TBEAI), held in early December 2025 in Durrës, Albania. The Laboratory for Electronic Business of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka serves as the project coordinator for UNIBL.
The kick-off meeting gathered partners from higher education institutions across the Western Balkans and the European Union. The host and project coordinator is Aleksandër Moisiu University of Durrës. During the two-day meeting, project objectives, work packages, planned activities, as well as the roles and responsibilities of partner institutions for the upcoming three-year period were presented.
Within the meeting framework, representatives of partner universities had the opportunity to present their institutions, exchange experiences, and participate in discussions focused on the modernization of business education through the application of artificial intelligence. Special emphasis was placed on the improvement of study programmes, the development of modern teaching methodologies, and the strengthening of cooperation between academia and the business sector.
The TBEAI project is funded under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE – Strand 2) programme and aims to transform business education in the Western Balkans by integrating artificial intelligence into curricula and study programmes. The project duration is 36 months, with a total budget of EUR 550,428.65.
The most significant project objectives related to the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka include:
- improving existing study programmes at partner universities in the region,
- building research and innovation capacities through the establishment of AI hubs,
- strengthening cooperation between universities and the business sector in the Western Balkans.
The participation of the Laboratory for Electronic Business of the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka in this project represents an important step towards the modernization of teaching content, enhancement of international cooperation, and further development of competencies of academic staff and students in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
