The purpose of studying this subject is to enable students to understand the paradigm of the science of project management, to master the basic techniques of preparation, analysis, evaluation and execution of the project. The main objective of the project management is to reduce risk and uncertainty, i.e. to increase the likelihood of achieving results within specified timeframes and with the projected cost. An important objective of studying this subject is that students learn how to understand and make investment decisions and implement projects.

Learning Outcomes (gained knowledge): | After completing the program, students will be able to explain the life cycle of the project, perform its market and financial analysis, analyze and project the business activities of the project bearer, apply investment criteria and make investment decisions. Students will be able to develop a feasibility study (justification) of the project, to apply the methods of project risk management by life cycle phases of the project, and to understand the advantages and disadvantages of different sources of funding projects. After completing the course, students will be able to implement the project activities according to the principles of the project cycle. |
Subject Contents: | The theoretical development of the science of project management; Concept, types and basic characteristics of projects; The methodological concept of the preparation, analysis and evaluation of projects; The life cycle of the project - first phase of the life cycle. Market and technical and technological analysis of the project; The financial analysis of the project; Investment methods of evaluation of the profitability of projects; Financing projects; Project management in the second phase of its execution; The third phase of the project life cycle; Managing project risks; Software tools for project management. |
Teaching Methods and Learning Activities: | The methodology of work with students is based on lectures and exercises. Lectures theoretically analyze problems, while the exercises in interactive teaching with students analyze concrete projects and cases from practice. The program also includes students' presentations of the feasibility study (justification) of the project. |
