CRANET Research
CRANET research is conducted using a standardized questionnaire, jointly developed at the level of the international network and adapted for use in participating countries. Its structure enables the systematic collection of data on human resource management policies, procedures, and practices within organizations.
The questionnaire primarily focuses on objective data on existing HRM practices, which is why it is generally completed by a person who has access to relevant information on human resource management within the organization, most commonly the head of this business function or another person responsible for human resource matters.
The research covers key areas of human resource management, including:
- the organization and position of the HRM function;
- human resource planning, recruitment, and selection;
- employee training and development;
- performance management and appraisal;
- rewards and benefits;
- employee relations and communication;
- basic organizational characteristics.
The questionnaire is periodically revised in order to preserve the comparability of data across different survey rounds, while also incorporating new topics that are becoming relevant to contemporary human resource management.
Once data collection has been completed, the data undergo procedures of validation, harmonization, and preparation for analysis. The use of a common research instrument and shared methodological principles enables their use in national and international comparative analyses.
