The University of Banja Luka (UNIBL), particularly the Faculty of Economics, is actively participating in the implementation of the USE IPM Horizon project (Up-skilling Researchers for Sustainable Entrepreneurship Based on Innovation Process Management), which aims to strengthen the research and innovation capacities of academic institutions in developing countries.
As part of the project activities, from 29 September to 5 October 2025, Prof. dr Branka Topić-Pavković, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, and Prof. dr Saša Petković, Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Banja Luka, visited the University of Málaga in Spain (Universidad de Málaga, Avda. Cervantes, Num. 2, Málaga 29016, Spain). The visit was organised with the aim of participating in an international scientific conference and accompanying workshops for researchers, within Work Package 2 of the project, focused on raising the R&I capacities of academic institutions.
During their stay in Málaga, the professors participated in the International Conference on Economics, Finance and Business Management (ICEFBM), held on 2 and 3 October 2025, where they presented scientific papers in the fields of business economics and entrepreneurship. In addition, they actively took part in workshops intended for researchers, which focused on improving methodological approaches, developing innovation processes and strengthening international scientific cooperation.
During the working week, several meetings were held with professors and researchers from the University of Málaga, where possibilities for further cooperation were discussed, including joint research projects, academic staff exchange and participation in future Horizon programmes. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of sustainable entrepreneurship based on innovation and the application of modern process management tools.
This activity represents an important contribution to the internationalisation of the University of Banja Luka and to strengthening its position within the European Research Area, through active participation in Horizon projects and cooperation with partner institutions.
