Foreign Languagе – English (Facultative course)
The course aims to enable students to successfully and skillfully communicate in English with all interested parties in the field of business administration from terminological and communicative aspects; overcome cultural barriers in English language communication; develop adequate lexical and functional expressions in the English language and develop a strategy for conjugating new expressions in the English language; develop the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently in English with international colleagues and experts; train students for mobility in the European and international university and professional environment, develop an adequate presentation of national culture and personal achievements abroad.

Teaching content or topics: | Theoretical teaching – Introduction to certain features and functions of the language of business administration (sociolinguistic aspects - use of time as a concept, authenticity, identity, language as power, etc.); verbal and non-verbal techniques of the language of business administration and different registers. The use of English as a global language of business administration and intercultural communication. Topics range from meeting and welcoming international colleagues, understanding other people’s culture, the impact of culture on business, to business correspondence, presentations, etc. Practical teaching - development of oral and written communication skills through work on a mini-project related to the topic of professional subjects. Understanding and analysis of the text genre. Application of acquired knowledge from the analysis of discourse and means of communication through oral and written tasks of presenting work on a mini-project in English. Enriching the vocabulary in the field of business administration and creating a multilingual terminological glossary. |
Teaching methods: | Lectures are combined with communicative, interactive exercises with the use of computers and multimedia, and students are expected to actively participate in classes and think critically. |
